Spring is here, sorta.

As with all seasons in Nebraska, you never know what to expect.  It could look bright and sunny out, but be 30 degrees and coooold.  This weekend was a nice mix of warm and cold I guess.  We spent much of Saturday outside watching Erich do yard work.  Harper wasn't too sure about that whole grass thing, but it wasn't long before she was crawling along, eating grass as she went.

We did her 9 month pictures on Saturday am, and they turned out really nice.  I'm excited to share those in a couple weeks.  We also went and visited the Ballous, and met their new baby Emily.  Harper wasn't too sure about her at first, but by the time we left she was more than comfortable getting in her face, stealing her socks, giving hi fives!  Ah, future BFFS, I can see it now.  We already decided they're going to run away from home to be hippy groupies of jam bands, but to their fathers' dismay...

This weekend we head to Hildreth for the big wedding!  While I'm not looking forward to the drive, I love a good wedding, and it will be fun to catch up with everyone over drinks and cake :)  I'm also looking forward to all the pictures I'm sure I'll take.

Speaking of, here are some from this weekend.  Enjoy!

Look closely and you can see teeth!

Emily Dawn is sooo big!

#2 Love the pic of the guys holding the babies, like they're talking to each other :) BFFS!
#3 Can I hire Erich to do MY yard work? I have to do that this weekend and I'm not looking forward to it. Not one bit.

LOL thanks Val! You should come meet her sometime :) Or update your blog! Yeah, I don't like yardwork either, luckily Erich seems to enjoy doing it.

Booker's First Birthday

While he didn't get to go to Disneyworld with us, he did get a pretty high flyin' party.  I may have gone a leeetle overboard with the party.  But hey, you only turn once right, and he may be my last :( Our theme was, Time Flies, and we used my Uncle's vintage toy plane for the invites.  Pretty cute kiddo.  It was also pre haircut, so he still looked like a baby. Of course I can't find that picture, so here is this one.  He's still cute.   Just a small party with family, and he had a great time.  He has already changed so much since this day.  He was just starting to make words and now can say Mama, Dada, Harper, Abs, Dude, and a lot of signs.  He also loves to dance, and is seriously the most cuddly sweet boy you will meet.  We love our little Bubba!

September is here!

Well, it's practically here. Where did August go? Where did the summer weather go? I don't care, it's Fall weather here in Nebraska and I hope it's going to stay well into November. Ahh, September, it's my favorite month...and not just because it's my birthday month 29 on the 9th, it's kind of a golden birthday-9/9/09, so that means extra gifts, right? Right. We are very busy this month. This weekend is the first Husker game of the season, so my mom and I are getting out of dodge to visit my sister (I am displeased to learn that my brother in law is renting the game, I can't escape it!). We're going to a pirate festival, and a carnival, and to this awesome little kitchen store in downtown Independence. So excited for family fun. My nephew told me I can sleep in his bed, but only if I wear underwear...um, deal? Erich has many options that weekend, we have an engagement party in York, going to the game, watching the game...who knows how crazy he'll...

Harper Jay Kant has arrived!

The wait is over! On June 9th, at 5:40 pm, Harper Jay Kant entered the world, weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long! I am so happy to have her in my arms, as is Erich. During the pregnancy, I made the comment on multiple occasions that I bed I'd pay for it during labor, and boy did I...and so the story goes: Tuesday I began having contractions around noon, but nothing that was progressive or in any order, so we decided to just keep our plan to go in at 7:30 to be induced. I was admitted around 8, and the "ripening" agent was started. I was checked around 12 and had progressed enough to warrant starting the Pitocin (around 1). Contractions began, but I really couldn't feel much; it was a long night and I was too excited to sleep (especially after the nurse commented that with these contractions I could be pushing by 7 that morning...I knew it was too good to be true) so I spent the evening with the Lost crew from Season 2, and waking Erich ...
