Snow Day!

Happy 7th Month birthday to Harper!  To celebrate, her daycare decided to close today due to snow, so we got an extra "us" day.  She has been in such fun spirits lately, I love it.  She is also crawling like a madwoman, and pulling herself up on anything that will (or in most cases won't) stay still.  She's also started growling at us; I think she does that more than her normal noises, and it freaks me out.  I think she's maybe possessed, so all those jokes about her stealing souls aren't quite as funny now...

7 months...seriously, where does the time go?!  In 5 short months my baby will be a year old.  In three short months my brother in law will get married to an awesome gal, and in a little under two months I'll embark on my first trip to Vegas, Baby! for a bachelorette. 2011 is going to be busy!   I have to stop using time off for closed daycares though.

Harper was sick most of the Christmas holiday weekend; I think it was a combination of too many people and being in a strange place, with a side of teething.  It lasted about two weeks, and is now her happy go lucky self, minus any teeth.  She just "graduated" into the Firefly room at daycare, which means she has more room to move, gets to play in a ball pit, eat solids, and have a little more structure.  So far she seems to enjoy it, especially the ball pit.  Alas, our dog would eat all the balls, so that is one luxury she'll have to keep at daycare...or grandma's :)

Speaking of Abbey, she has gotten so naughty.  She is stealing toys from the crib bars (as we had to lower the crib as low as it can go since Harper could climb out with ease), she humps her every chance she gets, and is relentless about licking her face.  I've looked online for ideas, but not finding many solutions, and getting rid of her isn't an option.  Any ideas?  She also has a barking problem, that was remedied for a while, but is back in full force. Good times!

Good Bye First Trimester!

I can't believe that I will be 12 weeks prego next week, it has gone by so fast. It's hellped that I haven't have any sickness, which I am very grateful for. I've kind of have the opposite; I am hungry but nothing sounds appetizing, so as a result I've lost weight. I got a nice little lecture from my dr last week, so I've been trying to eat more, and I think after this weekend, I have to have put on at least 10 pounds! Friday night we had Applebees where we polished off mozzarella sticks, I had a steak and potatoes and veggies, all so tasty! Then today we had Hu Hot for lunch, and just had McDonalds for dinner. I didn't say it was healthy, but it was definitely fattening! I seem to be getting my energy back, there for a while all I wanted to do was sleep. I never said I was a great correspondant....

..but almost four months between posts is ridiculous! I have no good excuse other than sheer laziness...that and I hate the way blogger posts photos, and it usually irritates me enough to delete my post anyway. So I will try to be better! I'll give some updates of what's kept me so busy, but I have no idea when they happen--I can't even remember what I did last week... Furniture shopping...Erich and I were under some strange impression that we had this wonderful discount at NFM for furniture through Home Real Estate, so we scoured that store at least four times looking for bookshelves,living room sets, entertainment centers, tvs, deep freezes, kitchen tables, hutches...you name it, we looked at it. And we could not find anything we liked, and by the end of the visit everything had merged into one big lump of data; my photos and notes taken throughout the trip looked like another language. Well, our first week of daycare and work went great!  Harper really seems to enjoy herself there, she eats and sleeps and plays well.  And I've been busy at work so it keeps me from dwelling on her all day.  We had her two month check up on Monday; she weighs 12 lbs 2.5 oz, and is 23 inches long, both in the 75th percentile.  Her head size, which escapes me, was in the 50th percentile.  She has great neck control, and everything else looks good.  She also took all 5 shots like a champ!  She cried some, but I think part of that was hungry cries...we agreed that we've heard her cry worse when her dinner was late! We spent this past weekend in York for Great Grandpa Kant's 91st birthday.  We had fun swimming at the pool; all the boys end up trying to outdo themselves on the diving board, and then the little girls try to mimick their older cousins, uncles and fathers.  Harper hung out with Great Grandma in the shade, but I think she wanted in t...
